TGS Technical Training in Guinea – January 2019

The TGS Technical Training Department was contacted by the German Government Development Agency, GIZ, to conduct a driver-training course in Mamou, Guinea. Having already provided training to other GIZ teams in Mali, Chad, and Cameroon we were delighted to see for ourselves the fleet challenges which GIZ faced in Guinea. The following areas of concern were highlighted to us:

environmental constraints

driving difficulties in harsh terrain

driving behaviour and best practices

road safety principles

These concepts were then worked on by the TGS Technical team and tailored specifically to the requirements and operations in Guinea.

A total of 20 candidates participated in the driver-training course, gained the required knowledge and achieved course objectives. Embracing the flexibility and expertise of TGS, the training course was delivered in a similar style as previous courses in past participating countries identifying the key performance indicators of good fleet management. Technical improvements and general attitudes towards the concepts underpinning the course were outstanding from all participants and implemented throughout all vehicle-related operations.
