At TGS Fleet Services, our commitment to safer, greener, and more effective transport solutions continues to resonate across the globe. Over the past couple of months our training programmes have reached new heights, delivering tailored, high-impact learning experiences in Colombia, Jordan, Malawi, and the Central African Republic.
🇨🇴 Colombia: Road Safety in Action
This month, TGS’ Miquel Armengol co-led the delivery of an Advanced Drivers Training in Colombia for 17 World Bank drivers from across Latin America and the Caribbean, including participants from Haiti, British Guiana, Jamaica, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Panama, and Honduras. Each brought unique driving experiences shaped by diverse road conditions and cultures. The training stood out for its multilingual format, with sessions conducted simultaneously in English, Spanish, and French—adding complexity but enriching the experience. Trainers navigated challenges in delivering consistent content, maintaining engagement, and managing timing across languages. Despite these, the program fostered cross-cultural exchange, mutual respect, and collaboration. Drivers shared practices from their regions, highlighting how shared goals like road safety can unite diverse teams. For organizations, such training enhances operational consistency, encourages adaptability, and strengthens regional networks vital for emergency response. TGS believes training should go beyond technical skills—building connection, confidence, and a commitment to safer roads everywhere.
🇲🇼 Malawi: Eco-Driving for MSF
We recently conducted our second Eco-Driving training for MSF, following its successful debut in Nigeria. This year’s session in Malawi focused on equipping drivers and technical referents with essential eco-driving skills. From sedans to 4x4s, the training emphasised safe vehicle maintenance and efficient driving practices.
As Jean-Philippe Lezeau aptly noted, “You can set all the KPIs you want, but they all depend on the driver’s right foot!”
🚗 Jordan: Expanding Access to Qualified Driver Training
Jordan continues to be a hub for our Qualified Driver Trainer (QDT) and Advanced Safe Driver Training (ASDT) courses. With support from Yanal Shoumenn, our training calendar and enrolment process have been streamlined to accommodate growing demand. Participants benefit from customised materials and online access, ensuring flexibility and inclusivity.
🇨🇫 Central African Republic: Spotlight on Brazzaville
The World Wildlife Fund in Central African Republic initiated two transformative courses with the support of TGS’ Valerian Lemoine, to empower their drivers for the region’s demanding operational landscape. Thirteen drivers earned the distinguished 4x4 Professional Driver Certification, while another participant excelled in an intensive Mechanic course—bolstering both vehicle reliability and the organisation’s commitment to sustainable, resilient transport.
💡 Why It Matters
These training initiatives reflect our broader mission: “Helping you achieve greener, safer, more effective and cost-efficient transport.” Whether through motorcycle safety, eco-driving, or advanced fleet management, our programmes are designed to meet the evolving needs of humanitarian and development organisations worldwide.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact.
